The 22nd Dubai Global Village has opened for public on 1st November 2017. This most awaited annual event will run till 7th April 2018 where millions of visitors from all around the world are expected to participate. The events of the 22nd global village started on 16:40 local time. The event is marked for providing entertainment, fun, shopping, heritage, culture and food from cultures and nationalities around the globe. Apart from the entertainment available in previous global village events, there are several new items to be presented in the latest 22nd Global Village 2017-18. Following are few fresh points that will enhance the beauty of this recently start international event.
- The Dubai government has made it easier than ever from people all around Dubai to arrive at the event. Two new bus routes are introduced by RTA for this purpose. The Route 102 and Route 106 will carry passengers from ‘Mall of the Emirates’ station after every hour. The already operating routes 103 and 104 will serve passengers after every half hour
- Friday is weekly holiday in UAE and it is given due importance in Global Village for the same purpose. Total 23 concerts are going to be held during 23 Fridays of Global Village at 9 pm. These concerts will feature international superstars and street entertainers
- 23 restaurants and cafes will serve visitors this year in Global Village. There will be addition of food items from the Gulf, Turkey, China, Cuba and Mexico this year. Additionally, street foods from around the world will be presented through more than 120 kiosks in the event
- The sky will be illuminated on every Thursday and Friday at 9 pm with the display of fireworks
- There is something special in carnivals this season with the addition of over 100 arcade games, 34 skill-based games and 28 rides. These rides and games will be named after several major cities of world
- More than 12,000 entertainment and cultural shows will be presented during November 01 and April 07. Artists from around the world will present these shows
- Along with the 25 existing pavilions representing 75 world’s cultures, two new pavilions will be added in the 22nd Dubai Global Village that will increase the total number of pavilions up to 27. This include: the South Asia Pavilion and the Bosnia & Balkans Pavilion. The cultures of Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh will be showcased in the south Asia Pavilion
- But not everything is new in the 22nd Dubai Global Village 2017-18. The tickets for general admission will be available at the same rate of AED 15. These tickets are available from park entrances and also online via mobile app. No fee is charge for children under three and seniors over 65
