In a significant move to bolster its maritime sector, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has launched a six-month multiple-entry visa exclusively for yacht crew members. This initiative, announced at the Dubai International Boat Show, aims to simplify travel logistics for professionals in the yachting industry.
According to the GDRFA, the visa allows yacht crew greater flexibility when entering and exiting Dubai, reinforcing the city’s status as a key global hub for luxury maritime travel.
Seamless Yacht Management with the ‘Mobile Marina’ Service
Alongside the visa launch, the GDRFA has introduced an innovative solution—the ‘Mobile Marina’—which streamlines administrative processes for yacht owners. Key benefits include:
- On-site assistance at Dubai’s marinas for quick documentation processing.
- Expedited entry and exit approvals, reducing clearance time to under 30 seconds.
- Simplified procedures to enhance the overall yachting experience.
Strengthening Dubai’s Position in the Global Yachting Industry
The introduction of this visa follows the ‘Abu Dhabi Golden Quay’ program, which was unveiled in December 2024 to attract yacht owners and high-net-worth investors through a 10-year UAE Golden Visa. Developed in partnership with Yas Marina and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, this initiative underscores the UAE’s long-term vision to become a premier destination for elite maritime tourism.
With these progressive policies, Dubai continues to cement its reputation as a luxury yachting powerhouse, providing world-class facilities and seamless regulatory support to the global maritime community.
The Dubai International Boat Show remains a crucial platform for unveiling industry-changing developments and is open until February 23 at Dubai Harbour.
