Sharjah, UAE – In a strategic move to bolster security protocols and streamline investor services, the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority (SAIF Zone) and the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) have engaged in discussions with the Sharjah General Directorate of Civil Defence. This collaboration aims to align safety measures with global best practices, ensuring Sharjah remains a top-tier destination for business and investment.
Senior officials from all three entities convened at SAIF Zone to explore ways to optimize business safety and compliance procedures. H.E. Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of HFZA and SAIF Zone, and H.E. Brigadier Sami Khamees Al Naqbi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence, led the discussions. Their agenda focused on refining information-sharing strategies, expediting building approvals, and enhancing regulatory frameworks for economic establishments.
According to Al Mazrouei, “Our objective is to cultivate a business environment that is not only innovative but also adheres to the highest safety standards. Security remains a key driver of sustainable development and economic resilience.”
Streamlining Compliance and Investor Facilitation
One of the primary objectives of this initiative is to simplify safety compliance procedures for investors. Plans are underway to implement a digital linkage between the free zones and Civil Defence, facilitating real-time approvals and improving operational efficiency.
Brigadier Al Naqbi emphasized the importance of such partnerships, stating,
“Strengthening collaboration between regulatory bodies ensures a safer, more business-friendly landscape. This initiative aligns with our commitment to accelerating service efficiency and fostering economic growth.”
Future Agreements and Digital Integration
Key recommendations from the meeting included a proposal to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the involved entities to solidify their cooperation. Additionally, a task force will be established to integrate digital solutions in collaboration with Sharjah Digital, aiming to enhance compliance tracking, streamline inspections, and improve overall safety measures.
