Since the inception of new economic policy after 2014 oil crisis, UAE is continuously trying to provide facility for various sectors for permanent stability and growth of its economy. One of the most important sectors for UAE is tourism that was flourishing in UAE (especially in Dubai) even long before oil crisis. It is mainly due to the facilities and opportunities available in UAE to people from all around the world.
Apart from entertainment and cultural attractions, UAE also provides one of the world’s best medical facilities at affordable rates. Due to this, the country is also becoming hub of medical tourism. Just like other economic sectors, UAE is also trying to make things easier for tourism sector as well.
In one such recent move, the government of UAE has relaxed rules for tourist visas. According to details, UAE cabinet has approved that tourists traveling to UAE in summer season will not be required to pay visa fees for dependents of 18 years of age or less. This rule will apply from July 15 to September 15 this year and the years to come.
May to September is considered off-season in UAE as most of the tourists visit the country between October and April. It is not only less warm during these months but most of events and other activities are also held during the same time period. But this latest rule clearly shows that the government is aiming to transform off-season in to active tourist season.
It is expected that more people will take advantage of this latest decision from this year. The arrival of additional people in summer season will ultimately result in growth of several businesses related to tourists including cinemas, parks, shopping malls etc.
According to experts, most popular tourist visa is the 90-day multi-entry tourist visa. Its cost is AED 945. After this new decision, a family of four (parents and two children) can save AED 1,890 to their tour to UAE by applying for this tourist visa. It is a big saving and they would like to visit UAE in summer season to avail monetary benefits.
Travel agents also claimed that weather is not a big problem for tourists to visit UAE as all types of comforts are available here in every season. This rule will especially attract tourists from Middle East, Asia and Africa where the weather is quite similar to that of UAE and there are holidays during summer season.
After allowing VAT refunds for tourists, this latest decision is the second in few days taken by UAE for benefit of tourism industry.
