Business opportunities in UAE continue whole year but the best time for cultural, commercial and tourist activities in the desert country is from November to April. During this period, several events and exhibitions are held in the country. Now a new educational and business event has started in all the emirates of UAE in the month of February that will last till the end of the month. In relation to this special event, the month of February 2018 is named as the Innovation Month in UAE.
The whole month will be divided among all the emirates in 4 equal periods. The first week (Feb 1-7) will belong to Abu Dhabi. Different events will be held in the capital emirate during this first week. The Google Innovation hub will also be launched during this period in Abu Dhabi. In the second week (Feb 8-14), several scientific and innovative events will be conducted in the emirates of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. The emirates of Sharjah, Ajman and Umm AL Quwain will jointly host the 3rd week (Feb 15-21) of the innovation month. The last week (Feb 22-28) is exclusive for the emirate of Dubai.
The month long event is the result of cooperation between the government and private sector that include academic institutes along with local and international organizations. The event is aimed at the transformation of the country into a global laboratory. An important purpose of this initiative is to convert the oil-based economy in to a knowledge base one that is helpful in diversification of the economy.
This concept is not new in UAE. Previously, it was held as the “UAE Innovation Week” but now its duration has expanded to a whole month with the addition of several new events. This new initiative will surely enhance the arrival of foreign educational and science related organizations in the country that will ultimately boost the educational and scientific sector in UAE.
